PepsiCo has completed a project to implement a temperature monitoring system for its partners' trucks in major Russian cities, including Moscow, St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Kazan, Chelyabinsk and others. The system is based on innovative technologies of the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT).
More than 500 partner trucks delivering dairy products to retail outlets "House in the Village", "Cheerful Milkman", "Kubanskaya Burenka", "Miracle", Bio Max, "Frugurt" and baby food "Agusha" and "Miracle Babies", now equipped with GPS trackers and smart sensors that transmit body temperature data in real time to the system. Thanks to the implemented solutions, PepsiCo monitors the timeliness of delivery of goods and the speed of movement of vehicles, which allows to further optimize routes and increase delivery efficiency. In addition, monitoring compliance with the temperature regime allows you to guarantee the delivery of products to the point of sale at the optimum temperature, and therefore minimize the likelihood of spoilage. If the temperature regime deviates from the norm, the driver-forwarder and dispatcher receive an instant push-notification to the mobile device, which makes it possible to solve the problem in a timely manner.
Yury Tsytserov, Director of Supply Chains at PepsiCo Russia says, “Timing and temperature conditions for the delivery of dairy products and baby food are very important for us. Thanks to the implementation of this system, we can be sure of the timely delivery of quality products to our customers.”
The project was implemented by the CDC group of companies based on the Optimum solutions. Khuseyn Az-zari, President of CDC Group says, “The implementation of the project for monitoring the temperature regime using the technologies of the industrial Internet of things has become another confirmation of our capabilities. Due to its high productivity, the system easily processes a large amount of information received from machines equipped with sensors, ensures constant synchronization and quickly responds to deviations in readings. As a result, the consumer receives fresh products delivered in compliance with all temperature standards”.
