Aeroflot and CDC have Optimized Ram Personnel’s Operations at Sheremetyevo

The CDC Group has implemented at Aeroflot – Russian Airlines an automated system for production operation control and data exchange. This hardware/software facility enables the operation units’ dispatchers to efficiently manage ramp personnel and ground equipment in Sheremetyevo airport.

Based on Optimum Field Service Automation и Optimum GIS mobile solutions, the System has been especially designed for Aeroflot. The System supports sending tasks for servicing aircraft and text messages to ramp agents, receiving reports on executed tasks, and supervising location of personnel and equipment on an electronic map.

The ramp personnel operate Getac PS236 (Windows Embedded Handheld 6.5 rugged communicators) and Getac E100-AS (Windows 7 rugged tablet PCs). Data exchange between the mobile devices and server is maintained via the Internet within a 3G network of CDC’s partner MTS (Mobile TeleSystems).

Currently 160 agents are involved in the project; this number will increase to 340. The System is now under enhancement to extend its functionalities in accordance with the recommendations of the airline’s top managers.

In the opinion of Kirill Bogdanov, Aeroflot’s CIO, ‘Implementation of the solution provided by CDC to Aeroflot – Russian Airlines was substantiated from the business perspective. It enables the airline to boost quality of serving aircraft, slash mileage passed and idle time of equipment, and to distribute tasks to the ramp personnel in a more efficient way.’
